Cuban Revolutionary Fund 2 reales, key counterstamp 1872 - 1877
Obverse: Short thick key counterstamp on reverse of Mexican 1857 Go PF 2 reales, KM#374.
Reverse: Obverse of Mexicican 2 reales, KM#374.
Flan slightly dished due to the counterstamp.
It is thought that these countermarks were most likely used 1872 - 1877 by the Cuban revolutionary troops as a fund raising device. Most commonly encountered on Mexican coins.
