Anglo-Saxon / Merovingian pale gold tremissis, VII siliquae or third solidus:
Obv: METTISCIVETI , around diademed and draped bust right.
Rev: (moneyer's name,?) , around branch-like inner circle, cross within, A V in two angles.
Found in Lincolnshire April 2015. Possibly English or a continental import, possibly English or continental contemporary imitation, c. 660 AD.
Obverse: Small scrape on neck.
Reverse: Hairline surface fractures.
Worthy of further research.
Weight: 1.23 grams, 19.0 grains. EMC number 2015.0131
