£550.00

Obv: AT.THE.3.SWANDS.IN.WEL. , around cable inner circle, three swans.
Rev: (mullet)ANNO.DOM:1656 , around cable inner circle, S W with (mullet) [above?] and below.
Ex Baldwin, on whose ticket identifies as Som[erse]t 311A.
Ex Norweb, uncertain 9332, illustrated.

Listed under Norfolk here, as research by Quentin Archer (Copperbark Ltd), suggests that this token may infact belong to Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk. According to www.norfolkpubs.co.uk, records of a property c. 1660 which included a brewery and malthouses , first found named the Three Swans in deeds dated January 1724, named the Dukes Head from c. 1750. More research would be needed to attribute with certainty.
Believed to be unique, as the only known example.
