Staffordshire, Bilston Rushbury & Woolley's silver sixpence token dated 1811: Obv: BILSTON SILVER TOKEN SIX PENCE around county Coat of Arms consisting of five lions surrounding a triple-turreted castle.
Rev: COMMERCIAL CHANGE PAYABLE BY RUSHBURY AND WOOLLEY 1811 ONE POUND NOTE FOR 40 TOKENS legend on nine lines.
Edge: Diagonally milled. GF
George Rushbury and Woolley issued copper penny and twopenny tokens and banknotes as well as silver tokens. The bank failed in 1815, though Woolley survived financially, having withdrawn from the partnership before the crash.
