Obverse: ΑVΤΟΚ Κ Μ ΑΝΤ ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟC CΕΒ ; radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III right.
Reverse: ΜΗΤΡ ΚΟΛ ΚΑΡΡΗΝωΝ ; six-pointed star within a crescent.
Carrhae mint AD 238-44.
Weight: 12.06 grams. Maximum diameter: 28.5mm.
BMC 61-2.
Rare.
Under Gordian III, Carrhae was re-conquered from the Persians and the colonia issued coinage for the first time since Septimius Severus.
