1852 Quarter Farthing
Obv: VICTORIA D:G: BRITANNIAR: REGINA F:D: , young bust of Queen Victoria facing right.
Rev: QUARTER FARTHING 1852 in three lines, crown above, rose sprig below.
Edge: Plain. Weight: 1.2 grams. Diameter: 13.5 mm. Toned GEF.
Obverse in particular much better in hand than photos suggest.
Introduced for use in Ceylon, the quarter farthing did not become legal tender in Great Britain, however it has become accepted as a British coin.
