IONIA, PHOCAEA, Commodus Caesar AD 166-177, AE Medallion, Aulus, Son of Marcus Stratigus, Griffin:

Obverse: Λ ΛVP KOMO-ΔΟC KAICAP, bare head bust of Commodus right wearing cuirass and paludamentum.
Reverse: AV- ΛOY TOY MAP-KOV EΠICTPA-THΓOV - Aulus, Son of Marcus Stratigus ; around griffin walking right, inner legend from above griffin ΦΩK-AEΩN.
Weight: 41.41 grams. Diameter: 40.5mm. Die axis: 180 degrees.

Some porosity and encrustation obverse right field . The.edge at 1 and 7 o' clock appears to have been hammered perhaps to fit into a mount for suspension.
Extremely rare, only the third known example?
