Poole, Morgan's mule sixpence, struck in copper
Obverse: SIX PENCE SILVER TOKEN around Justice seated left on bale, POOLE below.
Reverse: SOMERSETSHIRE WILTSHIRE GLOUCESTERSHIRE SOUTH WALES AND BRISTOL TOKEN in four curved lines, above and below a star containing PENCE and a large 6 (same die as Somerset 65).
Traces of old gilt plating.
Ex S. Goddard.
Composition: Copper. Edge: Milled /////.
D Dorset 12. W Dorset 12.
In all probability Dalton's description is confused; the obverse of his D 11, itself a mule of great rarity, should not carry the name of the issuer Best, but rather the female figure of Justice as per the present token.
Of the highest rarity.
